HOMEWORK: Bring Natural Items by Wed Sept 4

Students, this is a friendly reminder that you have a homework task due Wednesday, September 4. Instructions and the video link have also been posted on the Google Classroom.

1) Collect items from nature from a place that is special to you. It could be from your backyard, a park you like to visit, etc.

DO NOT pick living things, such as leaves/flowers/pinecones from plants. Observe rules in protected park areas.

2) Bring them to school in a bag by Wednesday, September 4

3) For help, re-watch the video from class (click here)

Instructions were also sent home on paper.

What Do You Hope For?

Today, we got together with the other Grade Four class and we watched a video of students arriving for their first day of school. In the video, the students saw a chalkboard that said, What Do You Hope For? They wrote down what they wanted for this year at school. Some of the answers were, "To make new friends," "I hope school is fun," and, "I hope school feels like home."

Our prompt

To watch the video, visit our Google Classroom and click on the link for the "Hope Video."

After, we wrote down what we hope for for this year at school. We put it on the compound using chalk, and on a big banner using marker. The banner will hang on the Grade Four bulletin board in the hallway. Families will be able to see it during our Open House event on Thursday, September 26 from 6-7 pm.

Welcome to Grade Four!

Welcome! We're excited to have you in our class this year. :) We are your two teachers: Ms Erin Elder and Mrs Elyssa Jamroziak. We will both be in the classroom teaching this Thursday and Friday so you get to meet both of us. Then, we'll take turns teaching, usually with Mrs Jamroziak on Mondays and Tuesdays and Ms Elder on Wednesdays and Thursdays. We'll alternate Fridays.

Grade Four is an exciting year. You make the step into Division Two and we start diving deeper into meaningful topics and their connection to the world around us.

Here's a look at your classroom:

We'll meet you outside the Compound doors (North) of the school on Thursday, August 29 at 8:15 am. See you then!
